Virginia Tech vs Florida State

Virginia Tech vs. Florida State 2018: Time, TV/live stream info, and pick prediction. The No. 19 Florida State Seminoles play host to the No. 20 Virginia Tech Hokies to wrap up the first week of college football action on Monday. The game is set for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN (live streaming via WatchESPN) from Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee.

The Hokies are in an interesting position because nobody really knows what to expect of them, including fans of the team. They have undergone some changes, but probably not enough to push them to the next level, especially with a ton of young players on the roster.

Time, TV channel, and streaming info

  • Time: 8 p.m. ET
  • Location: Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, Fla.
  • TV: ESPN
  • Streaming: WatchESPN
  • Odds: Florida State opened as 6.5-point favorites, and the line has only moved further in their favor.
  • Weather could play a factor in Monday’s game, as there’s expected to be plenty of rain and high winds.
  • Deondre Francois was named the starting quarterback for Florida State, at least for Week 1. Shortly after that news, Bailey Hockman decided to transfer, making the Seminoles thin at the position.
  • The Seminoles will be going with throwback end zones for their opener against the Hokies. Plus, the team is going to wear all black uniforms for the season opener.
  • When the Hokies released their official depth chart, the biggest thing to note was the fact that roughly two-thirds of the team is made up of redshirt sophomores. There are some other notable placements, which Gobbler Country covered.
  • Virginia Tech fans aren’t exactly sure how to feel about the team, at least right now. It feels like another season with no expectations, a holding pattern.
  • You can find the Tomahawk Nation staff predictions here, as well as previews from Gobbler Country here and here.

As far as S&P+ metrics go, Virginia Tech has a projected ranking of 7.7, with Florida State projected at 12.3. This means that, on a neutral field, the Seminoles would have a 4.6-point advantage on a neutral field. The odds suggested an even bigger gap, and any way you slice it, Florida State should be the pick here.

Jets vs Falcons Live -| NFL Preaseason Game 2018 Tv Channel

If you like quarterback competitions, then we’ve found the perfect NFL preseason game for you!Thursday’s action includes teams like the Buffalo Bills, who have signal-calling questions of their own, but on Friday, we’ve got an even better AFC East battle thanks to the New York Jets. On paper and in projections, their Week 1 exhibition opponent, the Atlanta Falcons, are head and shoulders above them, but preseason is more about potential than it is the regular season, so all eyes will be on Gang Green and their trio of possible Opening Day QBs.

Between first-round pick Sam Darnold, bargain-bin underdog Teddy Bridgewater and extra-seasoned incumbent Josh McCown, the Jets have three viable options under center, even if none of them are particularly ideal for a 2018 playoff run. Each figures to see time on Friday, and they’ll get to throw against one of the NFL’s fastest, up-and-coming defenses from 2017.

The Falcons, of course, have a few pieces worth watching as well. While the newly paid Matt Ryan should be kept out of harm’s way, one of his new targets, rookie wideout Calvin Ridley, is anticipated to make his debut for Atlanta, a popularly projected Super Bowl contender out of NFC.

Defensive end Derek Rivers Remember him? The Patriots’ top pick in the 2017 NFL Draft is back to full strength after missing his entire rookie season with a torn ACL. Rivers hasn’t seen much time with the top defense thus far, but he could play his way into the pass rush rotation with a strong preseason. Cornerbacks Jason McCourty, Duke Dawson and J.C. Jackson McCourty is battling with Eric Rowe for the right to replace Malcolm Butler in the starting lineup, and while he’s played well this summer, Rowe has taken the vast majority of the first-team snaps. Dawson, a second-round draft pick, has been New England’s top slot corner in camp but hasn’t wowed anyone with his play in practice. Jackson, one of the stars of spring practice, is looking to become the latest undrafted rookie corner to crack the Patriots’ 53-man roster. Offensive tackles Trent Brown and Isaiah Wynn Brown has garnered rave reviews thus far and appears to have a firm grasp on the starting left tackle spot. This will be his first game in a Patriots uniform. It’ll also be interesting to see how Wynn, New England’s top draft pick, fares against an NFL pass rush. He’s played almost exclusively with the second team thus far. Wide receivers Eric Decker, Cordarrelle Patterson, Braxton Berrios and Riley McCarron It’s not yet clear whether Decker, who just joined the team last week, will be ready to suit up for this game, but fellow newcomers Patterson and Berrios and 2017 practice squadder McCarron all should be out there. Patterson has made some phenomenal catches in camp, and we’ll get to see what he can do in the NFL’s new kickoff format. Slot receivers Berrios and McCarron have begun to flash a bit more in practice over the past week and are among the several players competing for punt return duties.

Texans vs Chiefs Live Stream NFL Game 4k

Kansas City’s Andy Reid has been a head coach since 1999 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He has coached 76 preseason games and his teams are 36-36-4 against the spread and 42-33-1 on the over/under. The past two years, Reid’s Chiefs were 2-2 SU in the pre-season. Last year, they split at home, losing 27-17 to the San Francisco 49ers and beating the Tennessee Titans 30-6.

Houston’s Bill O’Brien is 9-6 ATS in his pre-season career and 5-10 over/under. His club was 1-2 SU last year, losing the road games 27-17 at Carolina and 13-0 at New Orleans. Why only three games instead of four? The preseason finale against Dallas was canceled due to the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

These teams did meet in Week 5 last regular season, with the Chiefs winning 42-34 in Houston. Alex Smith threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns for Kansas City. More on him in a moment. Houston defensive star J.J. Watt suffered a season-ending broken leg in the loss.

Houston Texans
The Texans were way more talented than their 4-12 record last year but their season was derailed by major injuries. We mentioned Watt above. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, who has played just eight games total the past two years, says he is fully recovered from that broken leg, but he will not play Thursday. Fellow defensive star Jadeveon Clowney is out as he recovers from offseason knee surgery.

Former Clemson star Deshaun Watson was off to a record-setting start to his career before his big injury.

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson will probably see preseason action on Thursday versus the Kansas City Chiefs, according to coach Bill O’Brien.

“I’d say more likely,” O’Brien said when asked Tuesday if it was more or less likely Watson would play.

The decision has yet to be made as the coaching staff deliberates on game-planning for the preseason opener at Arrowhead Stadium, but O’Brien indicated the second-year signal caller will get a chance to knock off some rust in the exhibition game.

“We’ll see how it goes,” said O’Brien. “We’re going to talk about it today, kind of see where we’re at, look at the reps, do a lot of studying today — today’s a long day for the coaching staff — kind of see where everything’s at, and then we’ll make a decision prior to the game.”

Watson sustained a torn ACL on Nov. 2, 2017 ahead of the club’s Nov. 5 match-up with the Indianapolis Colts at NRG Stadium. After a 3-4 start, the Texans faded fast to a 4-12 finish with reserve quarterbacks Tom Savage and T.J. Yates splitting time in Watson’s absence.

The former first-round pick from Clemson is “trusting the process” with O’Brien and the coaching staff.

“Honestly, to me, if it happens, it happens,” said Watson. “It’s not a big deal. I’m just trusting the process that OB and the organization have for me, and I know it’s a good plan. So, I’m just kind of going with the flow and seeing what the game plan is for Thursday.”

The Texans averaged 34.7 points per game in Watson’s six starts from Weeks 2-8 last year, which were the most points per game in the NFL in that span. Houston hopes that their offense with a healthy Watson produces similar results. Eventually, Watson will have to get out of the bubble wrap and see live action this preseason.

Buccaneers vs Dolphins Live Stream | NFL Preseason Game Hd

The Miami Dolphins open their 2018 preseason on Thursday the Tampa Bay Buccaneers make the I-75 trip south to Hard Rock Stadium. This will be the first of four preseason games for both teams, and likely will not include much participation from the starters for either side. Typically, the first preseason game will see the top players play maybe a series, then stay on the sideline while the players fighting for depth positions hit the field for the majority of the game.

For the Dolphins, this will be a chance to get quarterback Ryan Tannehill back in a game for the first time since December 2016, when he first injured his knee. It will also be the second time linebacker Raekwon McMillan will be able to get on the field for the first preseason game; last year, McMillan tore his ACL on kickoff coverage for the opening kick for the first preseason contest and missed the entire season.

Over on the Tampa Bay sideline, there are questions about how the team will handle their quarterback situation. Jameis Winston, the team’s starting quarterback, is suspended for the first three regular season contests this year, with backup Ryan Fitzpatrick slated to start those games. Will the Buccaneers use the preseason to make sure Fitzpatrick is getting repetitions with the rest of the starters, or will they use it to get Winston as ready as possible before he is out of contact with the team for three weeks?
